Our friends Sandy and Ed Cooper (who have sponsored a college scholarship for qualifying home educated high school students in our past Science Fair Conventions) are having a Walk/5K Run Fundraiser in memory of their daughter Alicia Cooper.
The walk/run is being held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 (registration for the event ends Sept. 24th). Alicia passed away on January 3, 2010 from Aplastic Anemia in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, only 2-1/2 months after she was diagnosed with the disease. She was only 17 years old. Aplastic Anemia is a bone marrow failure disease that affects 1 in 3 million people every year in the United States.
Proceeds of the fundraiser will benefit Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Program and aid in research of Aplastic Anemia. Please help support the Coopers in this important project by contributing generously in whatever way(s) you can.
Tax-deductible gifts can be easily made through their online donation website. Or if you would prefer, you can send your contribution to the address listed below.
